Ingredients

  • Strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • Blueberries
  • Watermelon, cut into cubes or small triangles
  • Pineapple chunks (optional)
  • Green grapes or apple slices
  • Honeydew melon or cantaloupe, diced
  • Lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry all fruit thoroughly.
  2. Hull and slice strawberries lengthwise into even pieces.
  3. Cut watermelon into cubes or small triangles, reserving about 1 cup for red stripes and some extra for filling gaps.
  4. Arrange blueberries in a roughly 4×4 inch square at the top-left corner of the platter to represent the stars.
  5. Create red stripes by alternating rows of sliced strawberries and watermelon pieces horizontally across the platter.
  6. Fill in any gaps with green grapes or apple slices to add a border and balance colors.
  7. Optionally, drizzle fresh lime juice over the entire platter to prevent browning and keep fruit fresh.
  8. Garnish with fresh mint leaves scattered around the edges.
