A cool, alcohol-free mocktail featuring fresh mint, sparkling water, and a touch of sweetness, perfect for warm weather and easy to make in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves per serving
  • 8 oz (240 ml) sparkling water per glass
  • 12 tablespoons simple syrup per serving
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice per serving
  • Crushed ice
  • Optional: a sprig of mint for garnish

Instructions

  1. Gently rinse 10-12 fresh mint leaves under cold water and pat dry.
  2. Place the mint leaves at the bottom of your glass. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, press down gently 5-6 times to release the mint’s aromatic oils without shredding the leaves.
  3. Pour in 1-2 tablespoons of simple syrup and 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice. Stir gently to mix.
  4. Pack the glass almost to the top with crushed ice.
  5. Slowly pour 8 oz (240 ml) of chilled sparkling water over the ice, pouring gently to maintain the fizz.
  6. Stir lightly with a spoon about 5-6 slow strokes to combine flavors without flattening the bubbles.
  7. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig and optionally a thin lime wheel on the rim. Serve immediately.

Notes

Muddle the mint gently to avoid bitterness. Use crushed ice for best texture and chill. Adjust sweetness with simple syrup to taste. Prepare just before serving to keep sparkling water fizzy. For sugar-free versions, substitute simple syrup with agave nectar or stevia. Fresh mint is essential; dried mint is not recommended.
