A simple, refreshing electrolyte drink combining tangy lemon juice, pink Himalayan salt, and optional natural sweetener to hydrate and revitalize your body.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
  • 1 cup (240 ml) filtered water
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon raw honey, maple syrup, or organic agave nectar
  • Optional: zest from half a lemon

Instructions

  1. Roll the lemons on the counter to loosen juices, then cut in half and juice until you have about 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of fresh lemon juice. If zesting, grate the lemon rind before juicing, avoiding the white pith.
  2. Add a pinch (about 1/8 teaspoon) of pink Himalayan salt into your mixing jar or bowl.
  3. Pour in 1 cup (240 ml) of filtered water, room temperature or chilled based on preference.
  4. If desired, add 1 teaspoon of honey, maple syrup, or agave and stir well to dissolve.
  5. Stir or whisk the mixture until the salt and sweetener dissolve completely. If using lemon zest, mix it in now.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or saltiness as needed, adding more sweetener or a tiny pinch of salt if necessary.
  7. Serve immediately in a glass or mason jar. Optionally add ice cubes or a sprig of fresh mint.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor and vitamin content. Avoid overusing salt to prevent an unpleasantly salty taste. Stir well to dissolve salt and sweetener. Prepare concentrate by mixing lemon juice and salt in advance and add water before drinking; store concentrate refrigerated and use within 24 hours.
