refreshing orange slice cooler - featured image

A bright and cooling homemade frozen fruit drink featuring fresh oranges and frozen mixed fruit, perfect for hot days and quick refreshment.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large fresh oranges, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup frozen mixed fruit (berries, pineapple chunks, or mango)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 12 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda
  • Ice cubes (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice oranges into 1/4 inch thick rounds, removing white pith to avoid bitterness.
  2. Measure 1 cup of frozen mixed fruit; no need to thaw.
  3. In a blender, combine orange slices, frozen fruit, lemon juice, and honey or syrup if using. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and slightly frothy. Add a splash of sparkling water or plain water if too thick.
  4. Pour the blended mixture into a pitcher or serving glasses.
  5. Slowly stir in 1 cup chilled sparkling water or club soda to add fizz and lighten texture.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Add ice cubes for extra chill if desired.
  7. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a thin orange slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use frozen fruit instead of ice cubes to keep the drink cold without diluting flavor. Pulse blender first to avoid over-blending. Add sparkling water just before serving to keep fizz fresh. For a thicker smoothie-style cooler, add 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt before blending. Chill glasses for extra cold serving.
