A quick and easy recipe for salmon with crispy skin cooked in an air fryer, topped with a sweet and savory honey garlic glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (skin-on, about 6 oz / 170 g each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 small fresh lemon, juiced

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.
  4. Place salmon fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket. Cook for 6 minutes, then carefully flip each fillet. Cook for another 2 minutes until skin is golden and crisp and flesh is opaque but moist.
  5. Brush the honey garlic glaze generously over the cooked salmon. Return to the air fryer for an additional 2 minutes to caramelize the glaze, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  6. Remove salmon from the air fryer. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top and serve immediately.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before cooking for crispy skin. Apply glaze at the end to avoid burning. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Let salmon rest 2 minutes after cooking. For gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos. Maple syrup can replace honey for a different sweet flavor.
