A quick and easy snack featuring thinly sliced apples baked with cinnamon sugar for a crispy, tender, and flavorful treat. Perfect for cozy fall evenings or a sweet breakfast side.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium apples (Fuji or Honeycrisp preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon melted unsalted butter or neutral oil (canola)
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Wash and core the apples. Slice them into thin, even slices about 1/8-inch (3 mm) thick.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt (if using). Mix well.
  4. Drizzle the melted butter or oil over the apple slices. Toss gently to coat.
  5. Add the lemon juice to the apples and toss again.
  6. Add the cinnamon sugar mixture and toss carefully until each slice is coated.
  7. Arrange the slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet without overlapping.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping each slice halfway through baking for even browning.
  9. Remove from the oven and transfer the slices to a wire rack to cool and maintain crispiness.

Notes

Use thin, uniform 1/8-inch slices for best crispiness. Flip slices halfway through baking for even browning. Cooling on a wire rack helps maintain crispiness. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days; reheat in a 300°F oven for 5-7 minutes to re-crisp. For vegan version, substitute butter with coconut oil.
