A simple 4-ingredient slow cooker honey garlic chicken breast that’s naturally sweet and savory, perfect for busy weeknights. Just set it and forget it for tender, saucy chicken with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs (680g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/3 cup (113g) honey
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) low-sodium soy sauce
  • 45 cloves garlic, minced
  • Optional: sesame seeds, sliced green onions, lime juice for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together 1/3 cup honey, 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce, and 4-5 minced garlic cloves until smooth.
  2. Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels and place in a single layer in the slow cooker. Season lightly with black pepper.
  3. Pour the honey garlic mixture evenly over the chicken. Do not stir.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 3-4 hours or on HIGH for 2-3 hours, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Optional: Remove chicken to a plate. Pour sauce into a small saucepan and simmer over medium heat for 3-5 minutes to thicken. For a thicker glaze, stir in a slurry of 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons cold water.
  6. Return chicken to slow cooker or place on a serving platter. Spoon thickened sauce over top. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use low-sodium soy sauce to control salt level. Chicken breasts can dry out quickly in a slow cooker, so start checking at the 3-hour mark on LOW. The sauce will be thin after cooking; thickening it on the stovetop transforms it into a glossy glaze. Leftovers taste even better the next day.
