A sweet, tart, and refreshing green punch that looks like a spooky potion, perfect for Halloween parties. This easy recipe combines green sports drink, pineapple juice, and lemonade with fizzy soda and a frothy sherbet top.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (64 oz) bottle of green sports drink (like Mountain Dew or a generic lemon-lime version)
  • 1 (46 oz) can of pineapple juice
  • 1 (12 oz) can of frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
  • 2 liters of lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7-Up)
  • 1 cup of lime sherbet, softened slightly
  • Green food coloring (optional, 3-5 drops)
  • Gummy worms (for garnish)
  • Ice ring or large ice cubes (for serving)
  • Plastic spiders or eyeballs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the Ice Ring: The night before or at least 4 hours ahead, fill a bundt pan or ring mold halfway with water. Arrange a handful of gummy worms and a few plastic spiders in the water. Freeze for 2 hours, or until solid. Then, fill the mold the rest of the way with water and freeze completely.
  2. Mix the Base: In a large punch bowl or drink dispenser, combine the entire 64 oz bottle of green sports drink, the 46 oz can of pineapple juice, and the 12 oz can of thawed frozen lemonade concentrate. Stir well until the lemonade concentrate is completely dissolved.
  3. Add the Color (Optional): If you want a more intense neon-green color, add 3-5 drops of green food coloring to the base and stir.
  4. Chill the Base: Cover the punch bowl or pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving. This can be done up to 24 hours ahead.
  5. Add the Fizz and Froth: When ready to serve, take the base out of the fridge. Slowly pour in the 2 liters of lemon-lime soda and stir gently. Then, scoop in the softened lime sherbet. Let it float on top for a frothy, swampy effect; do not stir it in completely.
  6. Add the Ice Ring: Carefully unmold the ice ring by running the bottom of the pan under warm water for a few seconds. Gently slide it into the punch bowl.
  7. Final Garnish: Scatter extra gummy worms on top of the ice ring and around the edges of the bowl. If using plastic spiders or eyeballs, float them on the surface.
  8. Serve Immediately: Use a ladle to pour the punch into cups, ensuring each cup gets a gummy worm or two. Best enjoyed within 2 hours.

Notes

Do not add soda until just before serving to keep it fizzy. The ice ring can be made with some of the sports drink or lemonade instead of water to prevent dilution. For a less sweet punch, add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. For an adult version, replace soda with vodka or rum.
