Ingredients

  • Blue corn tortilla chips (Food Should Taste Good brand recommended)
  • Seaweed snacks (roasted nori sheets or seaweed chips)
  • Mini pretzels
  • Rice crackers (plain or lightly salted)
  • Cucumber slices (thin rounds or ribbons)
  • Cherry tomatoes (halved)
  • Starfruit slices (fresh or canned)
  • Baby carrots (peeled)
  • Blueberries (washed, seedless)
  • Grapes (washed, seedless)
  • Hummus (store-bought or homemade with lemon)
  • Cream cheese (softened, can be whipped)
  • Shredded cooked chicken or turkey slices (optional)
  • Cheddar or Colby Jack cheese (cut into fish shapes)
  • Mozzarella pearls or string cheese (pulled into strips)
  • Pickles or olives
  • Fresh herbs like dill or parsley
  • Edible seaweed flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place hummus and cream cheese in small bowls; optionally sprinkle edible seaweed flakes on hummus and set aside.
  2. Use a fish-shaped cookie cutter to cut cheddar or Colby Jack cheese slices; pull string cheese into thin strips to resemble tentacles.
  3. Thinly slice cucumbers into rounds or ribbons; halve cherry tomatoes; wash grapes and blueberries; slice starfruit into thin star shapes; arrange baby carrots next to dips.
  4. Arrange blue corn chips, seaweed snacks, mini pretzels, and rice crackers in clusters around the board, balancing colors and shapes.
  5. Place bowls of dips spaced evenly on the board; arrange cheese shapes near dips; group fresh veggies and fruits; use pickles or olives to mimic seaweed or sea creatures; sprinkle fresh herbs on top.
  6. Fill any empty spots with extra fruit or chips; optionally add toothpicks with colorful toppers; serve immediately or cover and refrigerate up to 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Keep cucumber ribbons and starfruit sliced no more than an hour before serving to avoid sogginess or browning. Keep dips chilled until serving. For gluten-free, use gluten-free pretzels and crackers. For dairy-free, substitute cheese with plant-based alternatives and use hummus or avocado dip.
