A quick and easy watermelon slush recipe perfect for warm day gatherings, made with fresh watermelon, lime juice, and ice for a refreshing treat the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups seedless watermelon cubes (about 600 grams)
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • A handful of fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish or blending)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cut seedless watermelon into roughly 1-inch cubes, measuring about 4 cups (600 grams). Remove any seeds if present.
  2. Place the watermelon cubes and 2 cups (about 475 ml) of ice cubes into your blender. For less icy texture, start with 1.5 cups of ice and add more after blending if needed.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of fresh lime juice, 1 to 2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) of honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste), and a pinch of salt.
  4. Blend on high for about 1 to 2 minutes until smooth but slightly grainy slush texture. Stop and scrape down the sides once or twice. Add a splash of cold water or coconut water if too thick.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or lime juice as desired. Pour into glasses immediately and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Use ripe watermelon for best flavor. Adjust ice amount to control slush texture. Fresh lime juice is preferred over bottled. Sweetener is optional depending on watermelon sweetness. Blend in pulses to maintain texture. Serve immediately for best experience. Can add coconut water or sparkling water for variation. Avoid over-blending to keep ice crystals.
