Refreshing Fresh Peach Bourbon Smash

fresh peach bourbon smash - featured image

A simple and refreshing summer cocktail combining fresh peaches, bourbon, mint, and a touch of sweetness for a perfect balance of flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 2 ounces bourbon (e.g., Buffalo Trace or Woodford Reserve)
  • 810 fresh mint leaves, plus extra for garnish
  • 1 ounce simple syrup (homemade or store-bought)
  • 0.5 ounces fresh lemon juice
  • Crushed ice, enough to fill the glass
  • Optional: splash of soda water for a lighter finish

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the peaches into thin wedges (6–8 pieces per peach). Tear the mint leaves gently to release aroma without bruising.
  2. In a mixing glass or shaker, add peach slices and mint leaves. Gently muddle for about 30 seconds to release juices and oils without pulverizing.
  3. Add 2 ounces bourbon, 1 ounce simple syrup, and 0.5 ounces fresh lemon juice. Stir gently for 10–15 seconds to combine.
  4. Fill a serving glass with crushed ice.
  5. Strain the mixture into the glass or pour directly for a rustic texture with peach chunks.
  6. Optionally, top with a splash of soda water for a lighter, fizzier drink.
  7. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a thin peach slice on the rim. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use ripe peaches that are slightly soft for best flavor. Muddle gently to avoid turning the mixture into a puree. Chill the glass beforehand for an extra cold drink. Adjust simple syrup to taste depending on peach sweetness. Optionally add soda water for fizz. Store muddled mixture refrigerated up to 24 hours but add ice and garnish fresh before serving.
