A quick and easy homemade frozen strawberry lemonade that’s perfectly balanced with sweet and tangy flavors, ideal for cooling off on hot summer days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (from 45 medium lemons)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • Optional: fresh mint leaves (a handful)
  • Optional: sparkling water (to top off)
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Rinse and hull about 2 cups of fresh strawberries. Halve or quarter larger berries for easier blending.
  2. Roll lemons on the counter, then slice and juice 4-5 medium lemons to get about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice. Remove seeds.
  3. In a blender, combine strawberries and 2 cups of ice cubes. Blend on high until smooth and slushy.
  4. Add lemon juice, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and 2 cups cold water to the blender. Blend briefly to combine. Taste and adjust sugar if needed.
  5. If using, add fresh mint leaves or lemon zest and pulse once or twice to mix.
  6. Pour into glasses and garnish with a strawberry slice or mint sprig. Top with sparkling water if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

If the lemonade is too thick, add more cold water and stir. If too thin, add more ice cubes and blend briefly. Use ripe strawberries for best flavor. Frozen strawberries can be used instead of fresh, but skip extra ice. Adjust sugar to taste. Clean blender immediately after use to avoid staining.
