A quick and easy grilled pineapple recipe that delivers a sweet smoky flavor with minimal fuss, perfect for summer cookouts or as a refreshing dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/2-inch thick rings or wedges
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
  • Juice of half a lime

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and slice the pineapple into 1/2-inch thick rings or wedges (about 10 minutes).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, ground cinnamon (if using), and sea salt. Mix well.
  3. Add pineapple slices to the bowl and gently toss to coat each piece with the sugar and spice mix. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  4. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat (375-400°F). Brush grates or pan with oil to prevent sticking (about 5 minutes).
  5. Lightly brush both sides of pineapple slices with olive oil or melted butter.
  6. Place pineapple slices on the hot grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until grill marks appear and edges caramelize.
  7. Transfer grilled pineapple to a serving plate and squeeze fresh lime juice over the top. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Brush grill grates and pineapple slices with oil or butter to prevent sticking and promote caramelization. Keep grill temperature medium-high to avoid burning sugar. Let pineapple sit in sugar-spice mix before grilling for better glaze. Use tongs gently to avoid breaking slices. Serve warm or at room temperature with a squeeze of lime juice to brighten flavors.
